Social Law members learn about evidence from expert faculty

Social Law’s auditorium was filled again on Thursday, February 5, 2015, for our annual seminar “Evidence: Learn What the Judges Learn.”  This year the panel of engaging presenters featured Hon. Margot Botsford, Associate Justice, Supreme Judicial Court, Hon. Mark S. Coven, First Justice, Quincy District Court, Hon. Frank M. Gaziano, Regional Administrative Justice, Plymouth Superior Court, and Hon. David A. Lowy, Associate Justice, Salem Superior Court.  The program discussed evidentiary issues as they relate to recent significant cases, including expert witness testimony, the common law right of confrontation, business, medical, and hospital records, and trial issues.  One attendee left the seminar confident that they could now “go toe to toe with trial judges over evidence.”  The Library would like to thank the faculty for their time and expertise and the attendees for making this year’s program an overwhelming success.
