Social Law Library members can access Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (MLW) one of two ways. Articles from 2001 through the current year are available directly to our members in the LegalTrac database. However, the most recent month’s worth of articles are not available in LegalTrac, so if you need more recent articles, you can also request copies through the Reference Department. Simply email reference@socialaw.com to request copies, and we can send them through the Copy Center at our normal Document Delivery rates. Need an article that’s even older than those available online? We have MLW in microfiche going back to 1972, and can scan and email it to you as a PDF.
If you want to search or read articles online, sign into the Research Databases page and select the LegalTrac database in the left-most column. Once you’re in LegalTrac, click on the Advanced Search link below the search box.
From the Advanced Search page, select 'Publication Search.' On this page, you can enter the title of the publication. LegalTrac will begin to pre-populate the search box as you type with publications that are in the database.
Once you’ve selected the publication, you will be able to see the availability of articles. For Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, LegalTrac contains articles from 2001 through the current year. The past month’s worth of articles is embargoed, so you will not be able to see the most recent articles this way. However, you can run keyword searches, or browse by the date of the article for those that are in the database. The publication date reflects the day an article became available on MassLawyersWeekly.com, not the print version that is published weekly on Mondays.
