On Wednesday, December 4, 2019 the Social Law Library hosted Administrative Agency Action and Judicial Review: Nuts And Bolts, Practice Pointers and Recent Developments – 2019
Presided over by a seasoned judge skilled in judicial review of agency adjudicatory decisions, this program featured an expert panel of lawyers with experience in all aspects of Massachusetts administrative law.
Topics covered included:
• Nuts and Bolts survey of the applicable law, procedural considerations and scope of review of adjudicatory proceedings before the Superior Court (under the State Administrative Procedure Act, Chapter 30A, and the Certiorari statute, Chapter 249, Sec. 4)
• The panelists provided useful practice notes on select statutes and types of cases that proceed directly to the appellate courts.
Hot topics and emerging issues were presented, including discussion of important recent cases. Tips on researching regulatory history and finding administrative decisions and guidance.
“The handouts were extremely well done. The presentation was made much better because I was able to listen closely rather than take copious notes.”
“Well thought out and organized.”
“Good to have plaintiff side.”
“Judges’ comments insight was very helpful.”
