Please Read the Terms and Conditions Below and the Social Law Library Site Terms of Use Before Purchasing Your Membership: Only sole practitioners can sign up online for immediate access-members at law firms, government agencies, and other entities must join through their firm, agency, or entity. Call (617) 226-1530 during regular business hours (9 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday). When choosing your membership rate (MA residents) you must use the city or town where you are listed with the Board of Bar Overseers. Prior members must have left the Library in good standing. Your username and password will be e-mailed to you at the end of the online registration process. Your application will be reviewed by Membership staff within the next business day after your sign up. Memberships are not refundable.

Sole Practitioner Membership Guidelines

Only an attorney who is in Sole Practice is eligible to register under this category. Attorneys who work for law firms or corporate law departments must register as such. A Sole Practitioner may register as either a Proprietor or Subscriber. The membership term runs from October 1st through September 30th.

Subscriber:

A Subscriber membership allows a Sole Practitioner to use the resources of the Library but does not include circulation privileges.

Proprietor:

A Proprietor membership is necessary in order to circulate materials from the Library and requires payment of a one-time Proprietor Initiation Fee of $50.00. Sole practitioners who are Proprietors may also call and reserve materials for pick-up.
