The Massachusetts Superior Court seeks to fill four Research Attorney I positions. The Research Attorney position is a professional, permanent position within the Administrative Office of the Superior Court. Among other things, Research Attorneys help the Justices by conducting legal research and drafting memoranda, decisions, and orders. We are looking for individuals to assist all the Justices of the Superior Court but primarily those justices sitting in Suffolk County (Boston), Bristol County (Fall River, New Bedford, and Taunton), Western Massachusetts, and possibly another location.
Requirements include a minimum of one year of legal experience, with excellent writing, communication, and legal research skills. Judicial clerkship and/or extensive experience involving a high volume of legal research and writing in the litigation context preferred. Research attorneys must reside in Massachusetts for the duration of their employment. Starting salary is $107,658.72 per year.
The Superior Court recognizes the importance of a work-life balance. After an initial training and trial period, a new Research Attorney may request a hybrid office/remote work schedule, subject to certain conditions and requirements.
