Trellis: Search State Court Dockets

August 3, 2026

Social Law Library members can search state court dockets in Massachusetts and 44 other jurisdictions on Trellis.  You can search across states dockets without specifying the court, even if you don’t have a party’s full name; or search by any keywords of your choosing – statutory cites, attorney and firm names, pleadings, common actions, and more. Members can find real-world examples of motions and pleadings. Trellis also includes Judicial analytics to satisfy your curiosity about what kinds of cases a judge has ruled on, how often they grant motions, and their average length to trial or rulings on motions.

Members can access Trellis in-Library or request searches and specific dockets be pulled by our Reference Staff with no copy center fee so long as the document is already on Trellis. (Note: some states do charge extra to pull new filings, but you will be provided with a cost estimate before the library does so. Massachusetts courts have free filings.)

If you have any questions about accessing or using Trellis, you can contact Reference at [email protected] or (617)226-1520.
