Recent changes to immigration law and an increase in immigration enforcement have resulted in significant consequences for noncitizens attempting to remain in or immigrate to the United States to be with their US Citizen Family members. Who can stay here and who can come here? More importantly, who cannot? Is there a legal line to get into? Three experienced immigration attorneys will discuss current events in family immigration law and answer these questions and more.

• How to assess a client’s immigration status
• Which categories exist for family immigration and how long is the wait for each?
• Does the immigrant have to leave the United States to get status?
• ”Lifetime bans” - what are they and who has them?
• Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and other options for children
• Options for victims of Domestic Violence
• New income requirements and immigration fees in general

This program will give advocates the tools and knowledge to best represent their noncitizen clients.
