Providing reasonable accommodations and fostering inclusiveness at work benefits employers and employees alike. But often employees face stigma in the workplace and employers don’t know how to fulfill their obligations to provide reasonable accommodations, leading to the breakdown of the employment relationship and litigation. Employment discrimination claims are challenging and difficult to prove, especially when psychiatric disabilities are at issue. This program will help you understand the complexities of these cases by presenting interactive sessions on:
•The benefits and challenges of accommodating psychiatric disabilities in the workplace
• Reasonable accommodations: requests, privacy protections, the interactive process,
and employer obligations
• Cases where there are intersectional identities, or overlapping protected classes, and how to understand and analyze potential discrimination claims
• How to voir dire the jury to identify biases that affect your case
